What shower pump do I need?

Match your property type and follow the flow chart to find the right pump to meet your requirements. Please note, shower pumps are not suitable to be installed with combination boilers.

A brand you can trust

All Supergen pumps are supplied with stainless steel flexibles, rubber feet for reduced noise and pre-wired motors. All are WRAS Approved for potable water, tested for optimum performance and efficiency, and complete with up to 5 years warranty depending on model and registration. How does a shower pump work?

A shower pump works by pumping your low-pressure water through an impeller, which then spins very quickly, using centrifugal force to eject the water at a higher pressure than it came in at.

Which shower pumps are quietest?

Brass shower pumps with brass impellers, rubber feet and regenerative design are amongst the quietest type of shower pump on the market. Our Supergen Professional range is manufactured in the UK with brass construction and continuously rated induction motors. This increases the life of the pump and decreases the noise level. Designed in the regenerative style, with unique internal machining on the brass casting, means the pumps are quiet running and more forgiving in an installation as they can handle hotter water, deal with air and are not demanding in terms of flow rate. They are also fitted with rubber feet to absorb any vibrations. If you are on a budget, our plastic-bodied shower pumps, the Supergen 15SX and Supergen 58TX, are fitted with low speed motors and rubber feet to ensure very quiet operation.

Can a shower pump be fitted in the loft?

Fitting a shower pump at the base of, or below, the hot water cylinder is the best option for your installation. However, if you have to install a shower pump in the loft, please call our pump specialists for advice on the best product and method.

Which shower pump do I need?

There are many different factors to consider when selecting your shower pump: twin or single, brass or plastic, negative or positive, 1.5 Bar or 4.0 Bar. Our Supergen Selector can help you work through these options to discover which shower pump will work best for you. Bear in mind, some modern showers and taps do not work below a certain pressure. If you aren't sure, do contact our technical team for advice and recommendations.
