Description

Compliant with stringent back flow protection regulations outlined in the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, the unit ensures a high level of safety, making it suitable for applications in the presence of hazardous liquids (eg. washdown in bin stores, medical rinsing equipment, school laboratory water supplies, single hosepipe supplies).

The Mini Tank enclosure boasts a brushed stainless steel construction, providing robust protection against corrosion. Inside, the unit is equipped with an 18 litre plastic tank, eliminating the need for additional water storage. The controllers come equipped with a built-in low water cutout feature, safeguarding the pump from dry run scenarios. Additionally, the VF variant offers compatibility with physical low water protection devices such as float switches (supplied separately).

The pump control will start the pump on falling pressure and stop the pump when flow ceases. It will also provide low water level protection.

Both variants of the Mini Tank series come equipped with volt-free contacts. The Mini Tank features a volt-free contact for Pump run, while the VF variant offers an output for “Fault.” These outputs are compatible with local BMS systems, enabling remote monitoring.

The Mini VF Controller offers the flexibility to set specific cut-in and cut-out pressures through its user-friendly HMI and seven-segment display.

With two mounting eyes conveniently located on the back of the cabinet, the units can be effortlessly mounted onto internal walls.

When to use a break tank?

Break tanks are used in boosting systems to fail proof the system if the mains supply has failed or cannot deliver enough water during peak demand.

How to keep break tanks from freezing?

We recommend using insulation jackets for break tanks, or purchasing a tank pre-insulated. This assists in maintaining a stable temperature within the tank and help protect it from overheating or freezing.

What size break tank do I need?

First, you need to consider the use and occupancy of the building you are sizing the break tank for. Second, you should consider the building’s expected peak flow rate. If you can't see the size you need in the options listed above, contact us for a bespoke quote.
